How to live in your car
I’m going to show you how to live comfortably in a car or van. Just in case you happen to be down on your luck (got fired from your job, your house caught on fire, or your wife sends you to the dog house) so this is your backup plan.
If you already got a car — GREAT! See if you can unlock the backseats so you can access the trunk from the inside. This way, you can sleep with your body in the trunk of the car and backseats.
I know most Honda car models has folding seats. Not sure about other cars.
WHERE TO PARK YOUR CAR FOR CHEAP
Next thing you want to do is, park your car somewhere on private property (like someone’s drive way, a farm land, or a private parking lot). Why? Because it helps with two things:
1. The car can’t harass you since you’re on private property
2. You can cancel your car insurance, this will save you lots of money
HOW TO WORK OR FIND A JOB WHILE LIVING IN A CAR
Got a job or looking for one? NO PROBLEM! All you need to do is rent a mailbox that has a suite or apt address, so it looks like an apartment. I’m currently renting on for $10 a month, where I receive all my mails (yes, even my tax return)
Don’t go to fedex for a mailbox. Go to a small family own store that offers mail box, photocopying service. The best place to start is looking up the yellow pages.
STAYING VERY CLEAN.
To stay clean you just have to wash the four main areas: gential, butt, armpits and hair.
Alot of people recommend going to the gym for showers but that’s expensive in the long run. We don’t need that because you can bath yourself at the gas station, or fast food restaurants. Just lock yourself up and wash. Simple and free!
Or you can visit the community center (YMCA), and it cost around $3 per visit last time I went.
HOW TO FEED YOURSELF FOR CHEAP
What you buy is a portable propane cooker for $30 at wal-mart, then bring the food that you bought at the grocery store to the park and cook! Cook to your heart’s content, chicken, eggs, pasta, whatever.
Side note: Don’t feed yourself fast food all the time. It’s too expensive and it’s a sure fire way to die young. Enjoy peanut butter jelly with bread, it taste awesome!
OTHER COOL STUFF
When people think “living in car” they think you’re stuck inside it all day. But in reality you’re sleeping in a car. Most of your day will be spent at work, library, mall, hanging out with friends, exercising, and a ton of other cool things.
So don’t look down on people who live in their car. :)
