Arrested for credit card debt — is it possible?

I’m going to tell you a funny story for those who are worried that they might get arrested for credit card debt. I know a friend who has 7 credit cards. You read it right — 7! God!

So, she maxed out her credit card and she can’t pay them because because she is a gambling addict of some sort. Now guess what? She declared bankrupty, and then … after 7 years of not being able to pay for her credit card, NOTHING HAPPENED TO HER.

Nobody knocked at her door and demanded money, nor did they arrest her in her sleep. (But I’m sure she got calls from creditors ought, they’re annoying as heck)

A couple other notes: I’m in Canada so I don’t know the laws for other countries. You never know in China they could kill you for credit card debt, because life is cheap in China. Why do you think stuff are cheap in China?
