Somewhere along the line – around the year 2000 or so – there was an orchestrated effort by the big corporations, which paid the news media, to run reports after reports of college graduates earning more money then high school graduates.
This lead to the public perception that college graduates earn more money. Which is generally true – if you’re looking to work for someone else for the rest of your life.
And the bank (and we know the banks and the global elites control the world) is amassing billions and billions of dollars from these poor college kids and their parents through student loan interest.
The public got suckered and conned into billions of dollars in the name of “education”. No need to put a gun to people’s head to rob them of their money if you tell them that their financial future is at stake.
What’s kinda weird is that college doesn’t guarantee a job. Pretty weird huh.
But of course, a lot of people who went to college are going to protest and say college isn’t about just training to get a job, it’s about “learning”, and “networking” and “socializing”.
That’s cool, nothing wrong with that, but you can do it for free with a trip to the library (learning), join an organization that you’re interested in (networking) and a trip to the mall, club or beach (socializing)
College is just a poor excuse to waste 4 years and a couple thousands of dollars because most people don’t know what they want in life, and follow what society says.
But of course, I’m not going to leave you hanging there by ending this post now. No, there is a remedy for this.
The remedy is to skip college so you don’t end up having debt before you turn 21, and follow your dreams, whatever it may be.
But I know a lot of people won’t do this because they’re afraid, but that’s okay. Only a few will go against the crowd. Always has been, always will be.
PS: Obviously you will need college if you want to be a doctor, lawyer or teacher. For everything else, skip college so you don’t join the pool of losers.
Peace out,
Ken, a happy high school drop out

Interesting blog.
Strangely, I actually agree with you.
(Check out my views here; http://alternative-debt-solutions.com/student-trap.html )
I’m sure there are millions out there screaming abuse
at you though.
Up the free thinkers, EH?
Pete.
Sure thing, Pete. ;)
This is extremely stupid advice for a lot of people. Just because one goes to college doesn’t make them a “sheep.” Just because you didn’t go to college doesn’t make you some kind of “free thinker.”
Actually most people who go to college end up doing something outside their major anyway.. Think about it.. what does that degree show? Not much..
Several of the world’s richest people are college drop outs..

Anyway, great post.. I was going to be doing a similar article to this so I’ll throw a link to you when I post it.
I agree with you for the most part; most people go to college because everyone else is going to college. But if you go to college with a purpose, there’s nothing wrong with that.
If you have the capacity to get what you want without college, more power to you.
But you are missing the point of going to college. A college diploma isn’t necessarily proof that you have learned some particular aspect of knowledge. After all, most people will forget most of the stuff learned in classes within a couple of years.
The point is that the college diploma proves that the person has the capability to learn (relatively) complex information, use it more or less effectively, and that he or she has the tenacity to push a multiyear (and often tedious) project to its end.
Which is why, even though some majors (Philosophy, anyone) are effectively useless in practice, people who graduate college are more frequently successful then those who never go. And while there are some fairly successful (or even very successful) high-school dropouts, most end up being complete losers.
What does that mean for youngsters? Well, I’m hiring, and I’m looking at resumes for an entry-level job. You can have the best resume in history of the world - I’ll take a look at “education”, see you are a dropout, and toss your application into the trashcan. Sure, I’ll miss a few really good and capable people that way, but chances are, I’ll save myself for hundredfold more losers and deadbeats. Sorry. I don’t hire dropouts even for dishwasher positions.
So, to finalize: if you want to work for yourself, and you are capable enough to get your business together and off to success at seventeen, dropping out is cool. Otherwise, buckle up and get that education.
