The other day I was at the bus stop and there was this homeless man who got his beat up (He had a black eye and his lips were smashed). I seen him hang out at the bus stop for two days now, so I handed him a $5 bill.
“Thank you” said the homeless man, a bit surprised because he wasn’t begging for any money.
“No, thank you,” I said. “God is always with you”. And I mean it literally.
Some people say give homeless people food instead of money because they might use it for drugs and booze. But it’s not for me to judge – the man can use the money for whatever he want. Tooth brush and condoms, perhaps.
It’s good to remember that that man is, at one point, was someone’s son. And he probably had dreams and hopes for the future. And now he’s chilling at the bus stop all day. But it isn’t for anyone to judge him but himself and the standard he want to set for himself. What’s interesting is that the city where I was at, there were too many jobs and a shortage of people. Weird huh?
I don’t blame how society is structured so there is homeless people, nor the so called “lack” of help for them. It’s kind of ignorant trying to get rid of homeless people, because they’re always there since the invention of civilization. Plus, not too long ago we were foraging in the rain forest, moving from one place to another. Doesn’t that qualify as being homeless?
In my epiphany, not judging is awesome.
Another example:
A boy was kidnapped and raped and killed. They caught the killer and sentenced him to death. Most people would feel horrible for the boy, but what if the boy grew up to be another Hilter? It’s simply best not to judge, that’s all.
