Sorry guys about the lack of update lately because I’m having one of my crazy adventure in a crazy city with 5+ official casinos. But regular updates shall resume :)
So I was at the casino and playing for like 12 hours straight (Up $200 in profit in 3 / 6 limit holdem), so it was like 3 in the morning and the mall is practically emptied except for the mall guards patrolling around.
I tried to find hidden corners to sleep and ended up sleeping near the fish pond in the China Town section of west Edmonton Mall (biggest mall in North America) but I’m getting cold because the tiles I’m laying on isn’t a good insulation.
So I slept sitting on those leather sofa but then the mall guard rudely walked me up.
“Security!” said the male guard. An attractive female guard stood besides him. And for a second I wonder if they have butt sex during their night shift.
“Uh … yeah?” I replied.
“There are no sleeping here” said the male guard.
“Not even for mall employees?” I said with a half smile.
“You work here?”
“Yeah”
“Where at?”
“At the casino …” I lied.
“Where is your ID from work?” asked the male guard. I looked into my wallet and told him that my ID is along with my uniform at … work.
He asked a few more questions, like have I ever been questioned by the security guard, and the female almost asked for my personal ID but I dodged it by saying I’m going back to the poker room.
But instead I took a cab and went to another casino at 3 in the morning, and greeted the dealers by name. I played 1 / 2 no limit and it’s terrible. I personally prefer limit games more, and this is coming from a person who only played no limit on-line.
Yeah, so then I went down $210 from the terrible 1 / 2 no limit play. I stayed at the casino for like 3-4 hours, took a bus down to a university campus and slept on the nice comfy sofa at the lounge for 5 hours. Nobody questions me or wakes me up.
After being fresh, I took a bus to another casino and played some more poker there. I went down $65 from a $100 buy, decide to call it a day because of my horrible form of playing (tired, restless, etc) and went to my friend’s place and passed out there.
It sure isn’t a glamorous life style grinding away and losing money when you’re tired and restless, but it’s one of those fun life experience I can chalk up and remember.
Overall, I’m winning but breaking even with all the money for drinks, transportation, tips, food and such, but it’s hard to tell because I’ve only done 5 sessions of this weekend brick and mortar poker marathon. I’m keeping track of my earnings, so let’s see how this goes.
