Laptops over desktops
I love laptops, I don’t think I’m ever switching back to desktop ever again. I haven’t been without a desktop for 2-3 years, and I’m not getting one anytime soon. Like ever. And there are many good reasons why laptops are better then desktops.
1. Mobility is king. Obviously the best advantage with the laptop is that you can carry it around with you anywhere, and it fits in your backpack, especially if you got those cute little 13 inch laptops. Whoever invented the laptop was a genius – make the monitor and processor like a folding book. Sweet!
2. The cool factor. Common, you do look slightly cool and professional looking with a laptop in hand. Nobody needs a desktop anymore besides school kids, scientists, gamers or graphic artists. No body really needs a desktop unless they’re doing high intensity processing power.
3. Last as long as a desktop. Some people might snicker that laptops are hard to upgrade, but then again, who needs top of the line specs if you’re using it to surf the net, check e-mails, listen to music, watch movies or write stuff? A laptop is like awesome tool for a business person.
4. Future technology improvement. I read on popular mechanics that laptop battery life is going to last for anywhere from 72 hours to 2 weeks straight thanks to a new battery technology. So far the best one in the market last for 5 hours with one battery stick. Laptops are getting thinner, faster, more power, lighter and the whole sizzle. Definitely not the chunky crap you see in the early 1990s in poorly made Hacker movies.
All in all, if anyone needs a computer for general use mentioned in point 3, get a laptop. You’ll like it much better then a desktop, plus I find that I type much faster on a laptop then on any keyboards so far.
And they’re not that much expensive either; you can get a decent one for under $1000 (brand new. Used ones go half the price) In fact the one I’m using right that was just $1020 and I expect it to last many years to come.
