Why poker is awesome

Poker is fun and profitable. You can make some decent money playing poker. Actually, there is no limitation when it comes to how much you earn in poker. The only limitation is your imagination. Some players make more more in 2 hours playing poker then a school teacher’s monthly paycheck.

So I played live brick and mortar casino game of poker the other day and I enjoyed it immensely. It’s so much different then playing on the Internet, because you actually get to sit there and analyze the opponent, have some cocky talk and it’s just generally more fun. Especially with the tells in live game, because you can tell who the fish are.

For me, poker is a mixture of risk and reward, a tad of math theory, psychology, situational awareness and discipline. It’s like these bunch of shit rolled into one. It’s a really challenging game because if you’re not in the moment, you lose.

Poker also deals with money – how much are you willing to risk your money for more money. Poker isn’t gambling; it isn’t like you’re playing roulette and bet black or white and get a 50/50 chance of winning, but rather poker is something you can win consistently if you have the skill set.

But on the other end, for some people it’s real boring and shitty because you’ll be folding your hands most of the time, and when you have a bad beat because some fish went all in with 2 7 off suit and beats you with a full house … you can get piss off, but that’s the nature of the game.
