What is the social script? Basically, it’s the success formula every body seems to follow: go to college, get a good job and get rich. But if you examine carefully the social script doesn’t seem to work very well, especially college kids who are heavily in debt and crappy jobs with crappy wages.
Just because everyone else is doing it doesn’t mean it’s a good idea.
Perhaps there is an alternative? Of course :)
Be like me and DON’T go to college, not getting into debt, go into business and start making money right away. Business doesn’t necessary mean wearing a suit and tie, or open a store. Just find creative ways to make money while doing what you love. That’s my definition.
With the Internet and Ebay, working for $10/hr is a really fucking dumb idea. Don’t waste your youth away, especially if you’re a hot chick. Or just fuse your passion with your job, literally a dream job.
The social script is getting old, I’m sure more people are opened to an alternative life style as the fear base mongering goes away.
